Safety
Paying attention to your computer's safety, does not only protect your own data, but also helps to increase the safety of the whole network. Furthermore you reduce the risk of being blocked.
What can you do for keeping your computer safe?
- Keep your operating system up to date.
- Use anti-virus software and keep it up to date.
- Use ad/script blockers in your browser.
Where do I get anti-virus software?
- Windows and MacOS already have anti-virus solutions integrated into the system (Microsoft Defender and XProtect), which offer solid basic protection with automated scans, regular updates and real-time protection. These programs should be used and kept up to date.
What do I have to do in case I am blocked due to a safety problem?
If your computer is infected by a virus or a worm, you have to fix it and report the incident to your local network administrator. The blocking will then be cancelled. If the virus or the worm is not completely eliminated you will be blocked again immediately.
